Turning “Likes" into Dollars: Introducing Students to Crowdsourcing Opportunities

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Students, especially millennials, have gotten used to giving away their original content on the internet. We all tend to forget who profits from the stuff we “make” online. This session will ignite the conversation of putting value back in what students create on the internet. Teaching students how they can leverage their social media and profit, with the help of social analytics, to launch and maintain a Patreon or Kickstarter. Higher education should be inspiring students to use crowdsource funding to help support their bloging, podcasting, filmmaking, and other creations.
